I don't remember very much of England, it was a whirlwind tour (one week), but we enjoyed it anyway. It was the first time Dad had ever been to England, and my second time. (Of course, that hardly counted since I was a small child when I went the first time!) The memories I do have of our trip are very special to me.

Dad always had two weeks off during the summer and we would always go to the Netherlands for one week and to another place (whether it was another country or France) for the second one. One summer we went to Germany, but Dad was actually on a business trip, so we didn't get to do much "touristing." I think the Netherlands was my favorite country to visit, but Paris was like home to me and to Dad. (I couldn't find any pictures of Dad from the Netherlands or Greece ~ where he lived for one year.) After his company sent him back to Andover, Massachusetts, he tried very hard to get back overseas. He never did. . . .
